Waldron’s Devastator by Matt Schloss

Matt Schloss just sent pics of his latest model: Trumpeter’s 1/32 TBD-1 Devastator. Matt used our Torpedo 8 masks to build it as the replacement aircraft Waldron flew at Midway. Wow:

We’re excited to see the red centers on the lower wing insignia, which pictures show remaining on spare TBDs hanging from the ceiling in the hanger deck. Crews couldn’t reach them to paint them out. That’s a detail you don’t often see depicted on models.

But our favorite part is the correct twin guns Matt added, complete with ammo boxes rather than belts. Matt used the Airscale set, along with a the Pro PE cockpit, prop, gunsight, and wing fold inserts. Check out Airscale, they make some of the best stuff out there:

And check out 1ManArmy, whose amazing masks were used for all the stencils. Not a single decal on the whole model:
